The CULT Committee

An opportunity not to ignore

The CULT Committee

What is it and why should you care?

The European Parlament Cult is responsible for all the cultural aspects of the Union such as the dissemination of culture, cultural heritage, cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as for education, audiovisual policy, information and media policy, the cultural and educational aspects of the information society, youth and sports.

It plays an equal role with the Member State governments in adopting new laws and supervising the Union's programmes in these areas.

Through the CULT committee, CoSup not only represents students within the European Schools, but also beyond - in front of the European Parliament. Last year, CoSup (just like other stakeholders) prepared a report on the European Schools, pointing out the system’s flaws and concerns, especially with regards to student welfare. By bringing the challenges which students face to the EP, we are being given an immense opportunity to call for action, and receive external support.

On the 13th of February 2024, Byron K. Springer, the president of CoSup, was invited to sit podium, in order to voice CoSup’s, and therefore the students’ opinions about the European Schools. The CULT committee is the highest level, to which students’ opinions are being brought. It is the body which is truly capable of enforcing change.
